Evaluation of management competencies: the perception of students in the nursing undergraduate course of the University of São Paulo

Resumo: This work is justified because of the need to evaluate training by competencies in the School of Nursing of the University of São Paulo. The objectives were:to analyze the perception of nursing students in the seventh and eighth semesters of the undergraduate course on the management competencies that they had acquired in the undergraduate course and provide input for the nursing administration knowledge for the reformulation of the evaluation process based on competences. Therefore, in the first, quantitative stage, an instrument was created with issues on the four pillars that make up the competencies for management: how to do, how to know, how to be and how to coexist. In the second, qualitative stage there was a focus group to analyze the perception of students about the development of their competencies. The results show that the students understand the need for their training to be based on competencies, but they believe there is a strong dichotomy between theory and practice.

Dentro de la primera etapa, cuantitativa, planteamos un instrumento con cuestiones relativas a los cuatro pilares que componen las competencias para la administración: Saber hacer, Saber conocer, Saber ser y Saber convivir. En la segunda etapa, cualitativa, se realizó un encuentro de grupo focal para analizar la percepción del graduando en lo referente al desarrollo de sus competencias. Los resultados indican que los graduandos entienden la necesidad de tener una formación basada en competencias pelo opinan que hay una gran dicotomía entre la teoría y la práctica.Esta pesquisa justifica-se mediante a necessidade de avaliação do processo de formação por competências na Escola de Enfermagem da USP. Os objetivos foram: analisar a percepção dos estudantes de enfermagem do sétimo e do oitavo semestre do curso de graduação quanto às competências gerenciais que adquiriram durante a graduação e oferecer subsídios à área de conhecimento da administração em enfermagem para reformulação do processo de avaliação baseado em competências. Para tanto, na primeira etapa, quantitativa, foi criado um instrumento com questões relativas aos quatro pilares que compõem as competências para o gerenciamento: Saber fazer, Saber conhecer, Saber ser e Saber conviver. Na segunda etapa, qualitativa, realizou-se um encontro de grupo focal para analisar a percepção do graduando quanto ao desenvolvimento de suas competências.
