Resumo: This study was done to verify the contribution of the research activity, linked to the Institutional Program of Scholarship of Scientific Initiation of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (PIBIC), in the professional practice of the nurse. The results indicated that most of the egresses of PIBIC didn't incorporate the research activity in the professional practice and that entered in the labor market without perspective of continuing its improvement through to masters degree, that is the main objective of PIBIC.

Los resultados indicaron que la mayoria de los egresados del PIBIC no incorporó esa actividad en la práctica profesional y de esta manera entraron en el mercado de trabajo sin la perspectiva de realizar estudios de post-graduación, el cual es el objetivo principal del PIBIC.O presente estudo teve como objetivo verificar a contribuição da atividade de pesquisa ligada ao Programa Institucional de Bolsas de Iniciação Científica da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (PIBIC), na prática profissional do enfermeiro.
