Resumo: The aim of this study is to present specific aspects of data collection in adult clients. The authors analyzed seven specific publications in the period 1960-2003. The literature consisted of biological, psychological and socio-cultural aspects involving sexuality. As to biology, it is important to investigate three phases of sexual response: desire, excitement and orgasm, relating them to biological alterations. Sexual self-image should be included in the psychological data; whereas the socio-cultural aspect should include data on taboos, sexual beliefs and social and sexual roles, including sexual relations.

Se analizaron siete publicaciones específicas entre 1960 - 2003. La literatura demuestra que hay aspectos biológicos, psicológicos y socioculturales involucrados en la sexualidad. En el aspecto biológico hay que investigar tres etapas de la respuesta sexual: deseo, excitación y orgasmo, y relacionarlas a alteraciones biológicas; lo psicológico debe incluir la autoimagen sexual y lo sociocultural datos sobre el rol social y sexual, contando con la relación sexual, además de los tabúes y supersticiones sexuales.O estudo objetiva apresentar os aspectos da sexualidade humana que devem ser abordados, segundo a literatura, numa coleta de dados aplicada a uma pessoa adulta. Foram analisadas sete publicações específicas no período de 1960 a 2003. A literatura demonstrou que existem aspectos biológicos, psicológicos e socioculturais que envolvem a sexualidade.
