Health education among teenagens for the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases

This article describes an educational activity carried out in school with adolescents. Via technological resources the activity provided the opportunity to reflect critically about the prevention of Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) and the infection by the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). It was carried out with high school students between 14 to 18 years old from the 3rd Regional Executive Office in Fortaleza-CE, Brazil. Six group dynamics seminars were performed. They approached themes like secondary sexual characteristics, sexuality, contraceptive methods, STDs and HIV. These workshops made possible the discussion of STD's prevention and HIV infection with the adolescents' active participation and interaction with their colleagues and educators. The participants demonstrated great interest in obtaining more information about the subject as well as in broadening the knowledge they already had about theme.
