Resumo: | The present study aims to investigate whether there is a significant difference between ethical and humanistic training of a licensed practical nurse and a registered nurse in the same area. The licensed practical nurse program focuses on the professionals' technical training intended for the labour market. As a result, the number of credit hours required is much lower than in nursing degree courses that provide a more holistic and comprehensive education compared to technical courses. Therefore, the present study considers that undergraduate courses are better able to provide training that focus on nursing ethical and humanistic aspects. The research was developed in a city in the state of Paraná, with the participation of registered and practical nurses working in hospitals and basic health units of the Unified Health System. The study showed no significant differences related to ethics and professional practice among registered and licensed practical nurses. |

The study showed no significant differences related to ethics and professional practice among registered and licensed practical nurses.El presente estudio tiene como objetivo investigar si existen diferencias significativas en la formación ética y humanística entre los profesionales con curso técnico de enfermería y aquéllos con nivel superior. El curso técnico tiene un enfoque muy específico, que es preparar técnicos para el mercado laboral. La carga horaria de formación exigida por ley es mucho menor en los cursos técnicos que en los cursos de grado en enfermería. Además, los cursos de grado tienen la función de proporcionar una formación más holística e integral que los cursos técnicos. Por lo tanto, la hipótesis de este estudio es que los cursos de grado tienen mejores condiciones de ofrecer una formación enfocada en el aspecto ético y humanístico porque disponen de mayor carga horaria para integrar los estudios. Esta investigación se realizó en una ciudad del interior del Estado de Paraná, con la participación de enfermeros y técnicos de Hospitales y Unidades Básicas de Salud que prestan servicios al Sistema Único de Salud. Se concluye que, en lo que respecta a la ética y a la práctica profesional, no hay diferencias significativas entre técnicos y enfermeros.O objetivo com este estudo foi investigar se há diferença significativa na formação ética e humanística dos profissionais de enfermagem com formação apenas de nível técnico em relação aos profissionais com curso superior na mesma área. O curso técnico tem um enfoque bem específico, que é o de preparar profissionais com formação técnica para o mercado de trabalho. Em razão disso, a carga horária de formação exigida por lei é bem menor nos cursos técnicos do que nos cursos de graduação em enfermagem. Não obstante isso, os cursos de graduação têm o papel de propiciar uma formação mais holística e integral do que os cursos técnicos. Nesse sentido, a hipótese neste estudo é de que os cursos de graduação têm melhores condições de oferecer uma formação voltada para o aspecto ético e humanístico, uma vez que possuem uma carga horária bem maior para a integralização dos estudos. A pesquisa foi desenvolvida em uma cidade do interior do Paraná, com a participação de enfermeiros e técnicos que atuam em hospitais e Unidades Básicas de Saúde que prestam atendimento ao Sistema Único de Saúde.
