Resumo: This work is a reflection on the importance of self-care in nursing work, since it is one of the instruments of work in the profession. We also highlight the fact that it is necessary to care for yourself, in order to care for others effectively and satisfactorily. Therefore we bring some studies carried out in this field to make our colleagues more aware so that they do their work in a way as not to damage their own health and, consequently, provide better care for their patients.

Destacamos también que es necesario cuidarse para poder cuidar al otro de forma efectiva y satisfactoria. Por tal motivo contribuimos con algunos estudios desarrollados en esta área para que nuestros compañeros tomen conciencia de que deben realizar las tareas de cuidador sin perjudicar su salud para, de esta forma, poder cuidar mejor a sus pacientes.Apresentamos aqui uma reflexão a respeito da importância do cuidar para a atuação da enfermagem, já que o cuidado é um dos instrumentos de trabalho da profissão. Destacamos também, o fato de que é preciso cuidar de si para poder cuidar do outro de maneira efetiva e satisfatória.
