A study of pain in patients with gynecological cancer, who underwent antineoplasic chemotherapy

Resumo: This is a descriptive, exploratory, prospective study, to systematically evaluate the pain felt by patients subjected to anti-neoplasic chemotherapy. Twenty-four patients were followed, with the approval of the Institution's Ethics Committee. Results showed that 17 out of the 24 patients monitored who mentioned pain before treatment, 14 said the pain improved; 13 felt another pain during the treatment. Associating the information obtained about pain with the "status" of the patients shows that despite the pain, the general state of the patients remained unaltered.

Se efectúo un seguimiento en 24 pacientes, con parecer positivo del Comité de Ética en Investigación de dicha institución. Los resultados indican que de 17 de las 24 pacientes con seguimiento, 17 mencionaron dolor antes del tratamiento, 14 manifestaron que el dolor mejoró; 13 que surgió otro dolor a lo largo del tratamiento. Las informaciones obtenidas sobre el dolor asociadas al estado de las pacientes indican que, a pesar del dolor, se mantuvo el estado general de las pacientes.Trata-se de um estudo descritivo, exploratório, prospectivo objetivando avaliar sistematicamente a dor que pacientes submetidas à quimioterapia antineoplásica sentem. Foram acompanhadas 24 pacientes, obtendo-se o parecer positivo do Comitê de Ética em Pesquisa da Instituição. Dentre os resultados encontrados destaca-se que de 17 das 24 pacientes acompanhadas que referiram dor prévia ao tratamento, 14 referiram que a dor melhorou; 13 referiram o aparecimento de outra dor ao longo do tratamento.
