Resumo: This study was intended to construct and evaluate an instrument for the supervision of the preparation and administration of medication. Focal groups were used, involving four meetings with the participation of five nurses. We found that supervision is a kind of control when the educational aspect is mentioned, attention is directed at training. Building an instrument of supervision made it possible to reflect on the important aspects in the process, indicating the need to continue to study other dimensions of thinking, feeling and acting relating to minimizing mistakes through effective.

Se utilizó la técnica de grupo focal con cuatro encuentros, y participación de cinco enfermeras. Quedó evidente que la supervisión asume un carácter de control, cuando se menciona el carácter educativo, el enfoque se dirige hacia los entrenamientos. La construcción del instrumento de supervisión posibilitó la reflexión de importantes aspectos en el proceso, indicando la necesidad de continuar estudiando otras dimensiones del pensar, sentir y actuar con miras a minimizar la ocurrencia de errores por medio de una supervisión efectiva.O estudo teve como objetivo construir e avaliar um instrumento de supervisão, direcionado ao preparo e administração de medicamentos. Utilizou-se a técnica de grupo focal com quatro encontros, contando com a participação de cinco enfermeiras. Como resultado, evidenciou-se que a supervisão assume caráter de controle, quando mencionado o caráter educativo, o enfoque é dirigido a treinamentos.
