Resumo: This paper intends to contribute to the understanding of the causes and effects of the approval of the Brazilian Labour Reform. From the perspective of the culture war as a tool used to achieve the political control of society and the State, such control exercised by the transnational market and by agents of global neoliberalism. The assumptions of the hypothesis that the labour reform is the fruit of the culture war rely on the philosophy for and of the present time, in addition to the comparison of characteristics of the text of the law and political events prior to its approval. It is necessary the re-encounter of the public debate on the questions of the new modalities of war; of the innovative forms of control; of the consequences of the suppression of politics; of the causes of hatred for the State; of the reification of work; of the evils of neoliberalism for citizenship. Brazil must move towards a suprassumed Rechstaat, in which the labour rights necessary for the realisation of the nation's sovereign values are included.

Brazil must move towards a suprassumed Rechstaat, in which the labour rights necessary for the realisation of the nation's sovereign values are included.
