Between the joint and the buck: womens's place in trafficking drugs

Resumo: The present work intends to comprehend the of women in drug trafficking through the database produced by PIEP (Estevão Pinto Penitenary Complex) by CRISP-UFMG (Public Security and Criminality Study Center) through survey and interviews, in research entitled "Is thug love jail bait?". The methodology is used and quantitative, through the analysis of the frequencies in a way that identify the methods of operation of women incarcerated in drug-dealing networks. It was taken as a theorical reference the studies of Lúcia Lamounier Sena (2015) to think the dinamics of drug-dealing networks and the studies of Manuela Valência and Helena Castro (2018), to think the methods to analyze information about a specific prison and understand the feminine operating in the traffic dynamics. After the data analysis we reached the conclusion that women connect to traffic through her social network by invitation of friends, family members, life partners and neighbors. Besides, the police arrest is determining in the construction of the crime and at the same time that these women are arrested with drugs and money, but in most cases without making use of fire arms, which shows that their actuation is without violence, and more linked to the service of social-economic demands, that practically make these women to connect with a drug-dealing network.

La metodología utilizada es cuantitativa, utilizando los datos de la encuesta como base para un análisis de las frecuencias, con el fin de identificar cuáles son los modos de actuación de las mujeres presas en las redes de trata. Se tomó como referencia teórica los estudios de Lúcia Lamounier Sena (2015) para pensar la dinámica de las redes de trata y los estudios de Manuela Valencia y Helena Castro (2018), para pensar las formas de analizar la información sobre una cárcel específica y entender el papel femenino en la dinámica de la trata. Tras el análisis de los datos, llegamos a la conclusión de que las mujeres se conectan a la trata a través de su red social, por invitación de amigos, familiares, parejas y vecinos. Además, la flagrancia policial es un factor determinante en la construcción del delito, mientras que estas mujeres son detenidas con drogas y dinero, pero en la mayoría de los casos sin el uso de armas de fuego, lo que demuestra las acciones desvinculadas de la violencia y enfocadas a satisfacer demandas socioeconómicas que prácticamente obligan a estas mujeres a conectarse a una red de narcotráfico.O presente trabalho visa compreender qual o papel das mulheres no tráfico de drogas a partir da base de dados produzida na PIEP[1] pelo CRISP-UFMG[2] através de survey e de entrevistas, em pesquisa intitulada “Amor bandido é chave de cadeia?”. A metodologia usada é a quantitativa, a partir dos dados do survey uma análise das frequências, de modo a identificar quais são os modos de atuação das mulheres presas nas redes de tráfico. Foi tomado como referência teórica os estudos de Lúcia Lamounier Sena (2015) para pensar as dinâmicas das redes de tráfico e os estudos de Manuela Valência e Helena Castro (2018), para pensar as formas de analisar as informações sobre um presídio específico e compreender a atuação feminina na dinâmica do tráfico. Após as análises dos dados chegamos à conclusão que as mulheres se ligam ao tráfico por meio de sua rede social, por convite de amigos, familiares, companheiros e vizinhos. Além disso, o flagrante policial é determinante na construção do crime, ao mesmo tempo em que essas mulheres são detidas com drogas, dinheiro, mas na maioria dos casos sem fazer o uso de armas de fogo, o que demonstra a atuação desligada da violência, e voltada para atendimento de demandas sócio-econômicas que praticamente obrigam essas mulheres a se ligar a uma rede de tráfico de drogas.
