Perception of university students before an audiovisual activity with mobile devices: a case study

Resumo: The present study is based on the interest that the manifestations of the university students of Teaching, future teachers, bring from a qualitative and, to a lesser extent, quantitative aspect, on the use of portable devices, specifically mobile phones with the support of the Facebook social network, in the teaching and learning process. It is an educational experience focused on the creation of audiovisuals using mobile devices. On the one hand, the results support the importance that students attribute to the resource and the motivation generated by the use of these innovative methodologies with ICT. They give value to the need to update technologically for their future teaching, also emanating positive prejudices before the proposed proposal. On the other hand, a percentage of students value the activity negatively, declaring ignorance in relation to it; in turn, negative prejudices arise regarding its possible use in the primary education classroom. At a current moment, in which the Horizon 2019 Report foresees the incorporation of mobility learning or Mobile Learning in higher education classrooms in less than a year, we believe that the considerations of future teachers are especially interesting in light of the evolution and introduction of methodological changes following the use of mobile devices in the classroom.

At a current moment, in which the Horizon 2019 Report foresees the incorporation of mobility learning or Mobile Learning in higher education classrooms in less than a year, we believe that the considerations of future teachers are especially interesting in light of the evolution and introduction of methodological changes following the use of mobile devices in the classroom.  El presente estudio radica en el interés que aportan las manifestaciones de los estudiantes universitarios de Magisterio, futuros maestros, desde una vertiente cualitativa y, en menor medida, cuantitativa, sobre el uso de los dispositivos portables, en concreto los teléfonos móviles con apoyo de la red social Facebook, en el proceso de enseñanza y aprendizaje. Se trata de una experiencia educativa centrada en la creación de audiovisuales mediante dispositivos móviles. Los resultados avalan, por un lado, la importancia que los discentes atribuyen al recurso y la motivación que les genera el uso de estas innovadoras metodologías con TIC. Otorgan valor a la necesidad de actualizarse tecnológicamente para su futura docencia, emanando también prejuicios positivos ante la propuesta planteada. Por otro lado, un porcentaje de estudiantes valora negativamente la actividad, declarando desconocimiento en relación a la misma; a su vez surgen prejuicios negativos ante su posible uso en el aula de educación primaria. En un momento actual, en el que el Informe Horizon 2019 prevé la incorporación del aprendizaje en movilidad o Mobile Learning en las aulas de educación superior a menos de un año vista, creemos de especial interés las consideraciones de los futuros docentes ante la evolución y la introducción de cambios metodológicos a raíz del uso de dispositivos móviles en el aula.O presente estudo parte do interesse proporcionado pelas manifestações de estudantes universitários do Magistério, futuros professores, numa perspectiva qualitativa e, em menor medida, quantitativa, sobre o uso de dispositivos portáteis, especificamente telefones celulares suportados pela rede social Facebook, no processo de ensino e aprendizagem. É uma experiência educacional focada na criação de audiovisuais por meio de dispositivos móveis. Os resultados obtidos endossam, por um lado, a importância que os alunos atribuem ao recurso e à motivação gerada pela utilização dessas metodologias inovadoras com as TIC. Eles valorizam a necessidade de atualização tecnológica para seu futuro ensino, emanando também preconceitos positivos em relação à proposta proposta. Por outro lado, um percentual de alunos valoriza negativamente a atividade, declarando desconhecimento em relação a ela; por sua vez, surgem preconceitos negativos quanto ao seu possível uso na sala de aula do ensino fundamental.
