Resumo: The impacts of globalization and of technical and scientific advances that shape contemporary society have demanded a change in the profile of professionals to meet emerging needs. The health professionals in the meantime have a key role in the sense that the adaptation to new demands, through education, training and qualification, dependent on the quality of care provided to health (AION; SECOLI, 2006). This is a descriptive transversal study with a quantitative approach, which aims to identify the profile of enrolled students in the last sentence of technical nursing offered by the National Service of Commercial Apprenticeship - SENAC, the city of Araxá, MG. The show was composed of 14 students who met the inclusion criteria established. The sample consisted of women at all, who declared themselves Catholic in the majority (42.86%), with marital status 'single' (64.28%), aged between 20 and 35 years. The majority reported having between 1 to 3 children (57.14%), all have reported cell phone; 71.42% of them attended the elementary and high school on a regular basis. The average monthly income of the majority (57.14%) was between 01 to 03 minimum wages. Regarding the most professional course (57.14%) classified knowledge acquired throughout the course as 'good' but have only had the opportunity to experience the hardships of the scenarios of health practices during curricular course. The most frequently mentioned impediment to the participants for completing the course was physical fatigue (85.70%). When asked to indicate the main area of interest in acting in the future, the medical clinic prevailed (64.29%). As for the expectations at the end of the course most expect to enter quickly into the labor market (50%) and being 'good people' (42.86%). We believe that this knowledge will enable schools to offer a more targeted way to meet students' needs and to fill the remaining gaps.

Os profissionais da área da saúde neste ínterim têm um papel fundamental no sentido de que das adaptações às novas demandas, mediante formação, capacitação e qualificação, dependem a qualidade da assistência á saúde prestada (NOIA; SECOLI, 2006). Trata-se de um estudo descritivo, transversal, com abordagem quantitativa, que se propõe a identificar o perfil dos alunos regularmente matriculados no último período do curso técnico em enfermagem oferecido pelo Serviço Nacional de Aprendizagem Comercial - SENAC, da cidade de Araxá, MG. Compuseram a mostra 14 alunos que atendiam aos critérios de inclusão estabelecidos. A amostra foi composta por mulheres em sua totalidade, que se declararam católicas em sua maioria (42,86%), com estado civil solteira (64,28%), na faixa etária entre 20 e 35 anos. A maioria referiu ter entre 1 a 3 filhos (57,14%); todas referiram possui telefone celular; 71,42% delas cursaram o ensino fundamental e médio de forma regular. A renda média mensal da maioria (57,14%) situava-se entre 01 a 03 salários mínimos. Com relação ao curso profissionalizante a maioria (57,14%) classificou os conhecimentos adquiridos ao longo do curso como bons embora só tenham tido oportunidade de vivenciar as adversidades dos cenários das práticas em saúde durante o estágio curricular do curso. O dificultador mais frequentemente mencionado pelas participantes para a conclusão do curso foi o cansaço físico (85,70%). Quando solicitadas a apontarem a principal área de interesse em atuar no futuro, a clínica médica prevaleceu (64,29%). Quanto às expectativas ao final do curso a maioria espera ingressar rapidamente no mercado de trabalho (50%) e ser bons profissionais (42,86%).
