Resumo: | Breast cancer (BC) is the disease that kills the most women worldwide, making it a serious health problem public. Because it has a high incidence and mortality rate, it is one of the most preventable cancers and because it has difficulties in accessing mammography in some regions, many cities do not reach the agreed target for tumor screening. Therefore, this study aimed to carry out a diagnosis of the tracking situation of breast cancer in the perception of health professionals This is an observational, cross-sectional study, being carried out in family health units (USF) in the participating municipalities of the 4th Health region of Alagoas, in period between March and September 2017. The professionals surveyed were mostly female with 98.1% nurses and 66.7% doctors, Brazilian. More than 80% of those interviewed said they knew the risk factors and Everyone believes that mammography is important. Given the results achieved, it was observed that professionals of the teams at family health units are aware of the importance of breast cancer screening, at the three levels of primary, secondary and tertiary prevention. The agreed targets will only be met when measures more effective in the participation of municipalities to guarantee breast cancer screening, both in access to mammography as complementary exams, which involves raising awareness among women about the importance self-care and carrying out screening exams. |
