Resumo: The impregnation of wood using chemical products has been used as a way to improve the resitance to xylophagous organisms attack. However, it is necessary to find products and solutions that are less aggressive to the human and the environment. Since then studies using other preservative solutions have been carried out. The aim of this study was to evaluate the boron compounds penetration using the long-term immersion method in the treatment of two Eucalyptus sp. clones (VM07 and VM08). Three 2m-length posts were taken from each tree clone and they were immersed in a 4% boric acid and sodium tetraborate solution for 10 and 30 days. After the period of immersion we cut four discs from each post at 0.4; 0.8; 1.2 and 1.6m positions in the base to top Direction to perform the colorimetric test. After that, we acquired images of the discs and using AutoCAD ® 2016 we measured the total and untreated area to determine the treated area for penetration analysis. In general, penetration was full and regular. The treatment for 30 days was statistically higher than the treatment for 10 days to that of 10 as well as VM08 clone was superior to VM07. Among the analyzed positions, the top was the one wich had the highest penetration.
