Pretende analisar a escolha de atividades de lazer de indivíduos com Insuficiência Renal Crônica Terminal (IRCT), sem negligenciar a dimensão sócio-econômica e cultural na qual esses sujeitos estão inseridos. Nessa perspectiva, apresenta as contribuições de importantes pensadores como Morin, Giddens e Kellehear sobre o tema morte e timing da finitude e suas implicações nas atividades cotidianas de lazer como afirmação da identidade. Avança para reflexões sobre o lazer na perspectiva da filosofia existencial já apresentadas em estudos de Marcellino. A pesquisa de campo desenvolveu-se por meio da metodologia Photovoz, na qual sete participantes homens com IRCT registraram seus lazeres desempenhados, em um período de três meses. As narrativas, disparadas por meio das imagens, apontaram para 6 categorias em comum sobre o lazer: trabalho, amigos e/ou familiares, ações de autossatisfação, afeto de animais, natureza e exercícios físicos. Os resultados demonstraram a forma bastante singular com a qual cada sujeito concebe suas atividades de lazer, no timing da finitude, e indicaram a importância para a autonomia de escolha do lazer e o direito ao desempenho das ocupações desejadas, a fim de que todo sujeito morrente viva até morrer dignamente. No entanto, questões como a perda de papel social de homens identificados como provedores e a condição socioeconômica e cultural podem afetar as escolhas ou, até mesmo, a possibilidade de se desempenhar o lazer desejado. Identificou-se, ainda, o quanto esses sujeitos afirmam sua identidade por meio do lazer, mesmo com todos os desafios impostos pela doença. Por fim, observou-se que a importância de viver o lazer, na perspectiva existencial, no decorrer da vida, oportunizará, ao sujeito, vivenciar um lazer pleno, no período da morte.This research aims to understand the leisure lived by people who are in the moment of finitude, showing a scenario on the various ways people perform activities consider important in a serious situation of health without a perspective of healing. It intends to analyze the choice of leisure activities with Terminal Chronic Renal Failure (TCRF), without neglecting a socioeconomic and cultural dimension in which the inserted texts are placed. In this perspective, it is presented as important subsidies like Morin, Giddens and Kellehear on the subject death and timing of finitude and its implications in the daily activities of leisure like affirmation of the identity. Field research was developed using the Photovoz methodology, in which seven male participants with IRCT recorded their leisure activities over a period of three months. The narratives through the images pointed to 6 common categories about leisure among participants, being: work, friends and / or family, self-satisfaction activities, affection of animals, nature and physical activity. The results proved a singular form that each participant makes his leisure activities at the moment of finitude and indicated an importance for the choice of leisure and the performance of the desired activities, so that may live to death with dignity. However, functions such as loss of social role of separate men as providers, as well as socioeconomic and cultural condition, can affect how the choices or even a possibility to perform the desired leisure. It was also identified, participants affirmed his identity through leisure, even with all specifics problems of the disease.
