Recovery of ameloblastoma after conservative treatment. Case report Ameloblastoma is a benign, slow-growing, locally invasive tumor with a high relapse rate. The treatment of ameloblastomas is found in several guidelines, from the most conservative to the most radical. The same is still a controversial subject in the literature, but the main forms of treatment are: histopathological type of lesions, age of patients, anatomical region involved, stage of tumor development and rates of recurrence. The decision to treat should be made according to individual issues. Conservative approaches such as enucleation, curettage, peripheral osteoporosis and the use of cryotherapy or Carnoy's solution are generally more indicated in the treatment of ameloblastomas in less aggressive forms, such as unicystic, or in the treatment of this tumor in children. But this modality of treatment, despite the high risk of relapse, may be a little more studied for surgeons, because it may be faster as a Hemimandibulectomy.
