This paper discusses about the school’s failure manifestation and its relation with the psychological concept of denial (Verleugnung). In order to investigate the subject, the concept of adolescence was analyzed from a psychoanalyses theoretical framework and was performed a brief review of the refusal’s concept in Freud’s work since its first reference in the text “ Three Essays about the theory of sexuality” (1905) until its formulation as a metapsychological concept in the article “Outline of Psychoanalyses” (1938). In an attempt to link these events to the mechanism of school refusal, were surveyed some contemporary after Freud authors. One hypotheses is that one of the recurrent ways of lead with the nowadays castration is the refusal, specially, due to how interpersonal relationship are being experienced by some subjects that deal with the other as a disposable object, when no longer meet their impulses.
