"Curious Minds": aproximação do contexto escolar à realidade laboratorial das universidades

There is a gap between the way science is conceived in the most diverse research laboratories and how this knowledge is made available to society, especially in practical laboratory classes in basic education. In the school environment there is a conception that an increase in the number of practical classes would contribute substantially to greater appropriation of knowledge and products made available by science. However, the active methodology in this context is not always a guarantee of a significant learning of the bases that guide the scientific production by the students. The insertion of scientific knowledge in the school environment could be facilitated, promoting reflection on the reality of scientific production, through partnerships between the university and schools, through extension projects, as evidenced in this work with the “Curious Minds” Project , which released access to the physical facilities of the university's laboratories for high school students. The results generated by these projects generate gains not only for the institutions involved, but for students and the entire community and society that permeate the school environment, as well as for graduate students, responsible in large part for the production of scientific knowledge in molds as they are produced today.
