Resumo: This study aimed to point out the academic perceptions of the participants of the I University Gymnastics Festival. The research is descriptive cross-sectional and mixed approach. The subjects were 52 students of Physical Education. An online questionnaire was used containing open and closed questions, designed specifically for the research. Data were analyzed in a mixed way using the SPSS 24 Software and technique of elaboration and analysis of meaning units.The study pointed out that: the choreographies were elaborated collectively; the teacher acted as mediator and creative agent in the elaboration of the choreographies. Additionally, the exchange relationship between academics and teachers was observed in the participants' speech. We concluded that the festival was an instrument of gymnastics promotion and socialization among the involved ones, besides being a research field in full exploration and that indicates new ways for the gymnastics practice in Brazil and in the world.

La investigación es de tipo transversal descriptivo de enfoque mixto e tuvo como sujetos 52 estudiantes de Educación Física. Se utilizó un cuestionario en línea com perguntas abiertas y cerradas, diseñado específicamente para la investigación. Los datos se analizaron de forma mixta utilizando el software SPSS 24 y la técnica de elaboración y análisis de unidades de significado. El estúdio señaló que: las coreografías se elaboraron colectivamente; el professor actuó como mediador y agente creativo en la elaboración de la coreografia. Además, la relación de intercambio entre académicos y docentes se observó en el discurso de los participantes. Se concluye que el festival fue um instrumento de promoción y socialización de la gimnasia entre los involucrados, además de ser um campo de investigación em exploración completa y que indica nuevas formas para la práctica de gimnasia em Brasil y em el mundo.Este estudo objetivou apontar as percepções acadêmicas dos participantes do I Festival de Ginástica Universitária. A pesquisa é descritiva do tipo transversal de abordagem mista e teve como sujeitos 52 discentes de Educação Física. Foi utilizado um questionário online com questões abertas e fechadas, elaborado especificamente para a pesquisa. Os dados foram analisados de forma mista utilizando o Software SPSS 24 e técnica de elaboração e análise de Unidades de Significado. O estudo apontou que: as coreografias foram elaboradas de forma coletiva; houve atuação do professor como mediador e agente criador na elaboração das coreografias. Adicionalmente, a relação de troca entre os acadêmicos e professores foi observada na fala dos participantes.
