American football is one of the fastest growing sports in Brazil, but few national surveys on this topic were carried out, especially those that refer to the process of teaching, living, learning and training this modality in our country. In this way, this research focuses on sports initiation to American football, through analysis and data collection through interviews with managers of schools that have the initiation category to that sport. In our analysis of the coordinators’ speeches, there is a great lack of approximation with the knowledge related to the composition of a structured football teaching curriculum, perhaps due to the lack of knowledge regarding the concept of curriculum or the Pedagogy of Sport itself. Therefore, this research comes with the conclusion of highlighting a scenario that could be further explored and that still lacks curricular proposals convincingly based on scientific literature.
