Resumo: As a discipline or content of the discipline of fighting, judo has traditionally been part of the Physical Education teacher formation curriculum in Brazil, but its effective application in school Physical Education has been little investigated. The study aimed to analyze the application of judo content by teachers of state public schools in the city of Maringá, Paraná. Twenty-four Physical Education teachers who worked for at least one school year at the State Education system participated in the research. The teachers answered a questionnaire whose questions addressed the teachers' profile and their experiences with judo: extracurricular, as an elementary school, in Physical Education graduation and the pedagogical practice involving the sport. There was a great offer of judo as content of undergraduate courses in Physical Education and, in contrast, little or no offer in school Physical Education. These results indicate the need for greater convergence between higher education and the reality and pedagogical possibilities in schools, and continuing education for teachers working in the public school system, so that judo content is effectively offered.

El estudio tuvo como objetivo analizar la aplicación del contenido judo por parte de maestros de escuelas públicas estatales en la ciudad de Maringá, Paraná. Veinticuatro maestros de educación física que trabajaron durante al menos un año escolar en la Red Educacional del Estado participaron en la investigación. Los maestros respondieron un cuestionario cuyas preguntas abordaron el perfil de los maestros y sus experiencias con el judo: extracurricular, como estudiante de enseñanza superior en Educación Física y la práctica pedagógica. Hubo gran oferta de judo como contenido de cursos superiores en Educación Física y, en contraste, poca o ninguna oferta en Educación Física escolar. Estos resultados indican la necesidad de una convergencia entre la educación superior y la realidad y las posibilidades pedagógicas en las escuelas, así como la educación continua para los docentes que trabajan en el sistema escolar público, para que el contenido de judo ser ofrecido efectivamente.Como disciplina ou conteúdo da disciplina de lutas, o judô tradicionalmente compõe o currículo de formação de professores de Educação Física no Brasil, mas sua efetiva aplicação na Educação Física escolar vem sendo pouco investigada. Assim, o estudo teve por objetivo analisar a aplicação do conteúdo judô por professores de escolas públicas estaduais de Maringá, Paraná. Participaram da pesquisa 24 professores, atuantes há pelo menos um ano letivo na Rede Estadual de Ensino, que responderam a um questionário sobre suas experiências com o judô: extracurriculares, como aluno do ensino básico, na graduação e em sua prática pedagógica. Verificou-se grande oferta do judô como conteúdo dos cursos de licenciatura e, em contraponto, pouca ou nenhuma oferta na Educação Física escolar.
