Indigenous bodily struggles are a little explored context in the field of Physical Education. In order to affirm this context, we aimed to conduct a survey with Physical Education teachers from the municipal public education network in Fortaleza-CE to analyze whether they worked on indigenous bodily struggles in their classes. Thus, 72 teachers participated in the survey through an online questionnaire. In the research, it was found that 80% of teachers did not work on the topic due to the lack of initial and continuing education, denoting the lack of knowledge of teachers on the topic and the deprivation of students' knowledge about the bodily practices of indigenous peoples. This study is justified as a theoretical basis on the ethnic-racial theme in which it elaborates assumptions that can make the policies of recognition and appreciation of indigenous peoples feasible and promote Law 11.645/08.
