TEACHING SPORT FROM A FEMINIST POINT OF VIEW: TENSIONS FROM FEMINIST EPISTEMOLOGY FOR SPORT PEDAGOGY

Resumo: Throughout the 20th century women have been prevented or discouraged from participating in sports, but in recent decades their participation in sports has grown. This growth is due to recent institutional efforts, which, however, have not been accompanied by academic and scientific efforts. We propose, then, to think about the matter of women's sports participation from the viewpoint of feminist studies, aiming to revisit the feminist epistemologies that corroborate for reflection. As a response, we highlight the need to: grant the capacity of girls to agency solutions related to their sports practice; distance ourselves from the discourses that place them as a problem to be solved within sports; promote a diffusion of power, involving, above all, a heterogeneous participation within these spaces; and work from pleasure and autonomy as mechanisms to play.

Este crecimiento se debe a los recientes esfuerzos institucionales, los cuales, todavia, no son acompañados de esfuerzos académicos y científicos. Proponemos entonces, pensar la problemática de la participación deportiva de las mujeres desde el punto de vista de los estudios feministas, teniendo como objetivo revisar las epistemologías feministas que corroboran para la reflexión. Como respuesta, destacamos la necesidad de: otorgar la capacidad de las niñas en agenciar soluciones relacionadas con su práctica deportiva; distanciarnos de los discursos que las sitúan como un problema a resolver dentro del deporte; promover una difusión del poder, implicando, sobre todo, una participación heterogénea dentro de estos espacios; y trabajar a partir del placer y la autonomía como mecanismos para jugar.Ao longo do século XX as mulheres foram impedidas ou desincentivadas à prática de esportes, entretanto, nas últimas décadas, essa participação vem crescendo. Esse crescimento deve-se a esforços institucionais recentes, os quais, todavia, não são acompanhados pelos esforços acadêmicos e científicos. Propomos então, pensar a problemática da participação esportiva das mulheres sob a ótica dos estudos feministas, tendo como objetivo revisitar as epistemologias feministas que corroboram para a reflexão.
