Resumo: | D. Pedro II is one of the most iconic characters of Brazil in the nineteenth century, because it is the reference of a "historical time" or better, building your image is always reflected in the socio-political structure of his reign. The monarch became the "main key to understanding the imperial policy in the Second Empire" However, we can ask whe ther Pedro II had been the result of its historical time or had been built like this? In this scenario, the objective is to verify the biographies produced about this person, Lilia Moritz Schwarcz by anthropologist (As Barbas do Imperador 1998), and by his torians José Murilo de Carvalho (D. Pedro II, 2007) and Roderick J. Barman (O Monarca Cidadão, 2013), the (different) concepts of time are presented in these narratives, the trajectory of the Emperor. |

The trajectory of a lifeA trajetória de uma vidabiographical genretemporalityD. Pedro IIgênero biográficotemporalidadesD. Pedro II D.
