Operations management plays a crucial role in ensuring that a company produces high-quality goods and services efficiently, meeting customer needs and remaining competitive in the market. In production planning, production capacity refers to the efficient use of resources to meet demand, which includes the needs of your customers. To this end, it is crucial to check possible restrictions on production capacity, one of which is the bottleneck, as a resource or slower stage of the production process that cannot be lower than demand. NT Serralheria, established in 1992, in Bodoquena – MS, operates in the services and metal products sector, with one of the best-selling products being the overhead gate. The general objective of the research was to describe the restrictions on the production capacity of the product most sold by NT Serralheria. This is a case study in which the company's production manager and servant were interviewed. At NT Serralheria, the significant restriction on production capacity, identified as the bottleneck, is in the cutting and materials preparation stage. The limitation of cutting machines results in long waiting times, affecting the efficiency of the production process and causing possible delays in the manufacture of overhead gates. It is imperative to address this restriction, considering investments in more efficient machinery and process optimization, in order to eliminate the bottleneck and ensure a more effective operation, allowing NT Serralheria to meet market demand competitively.
