In the face of multiples challenges on contemporary cities the sociospatial segregation and problems in urban mobility are currents problems in the daily life of ordinary citizens. This work propose to be more attention about the relation between these concepts and perceive their consequences in the urban space and in the people that occupy that space. The general objective is crompehend the complexity of the problems arising from this aspects and thenafter propose mitigation measures trough an urban redesign project, using elements belonging in the mobility system, like sidewalks for pedestrians, cycle paths for cyclists and lane for the public transport. The ideia is requalify them prioritizing the most fragile invisible means of transporting: walkings and cyclings. The methodology was based on bibliographic referential researches beside conditionals analysis of the road chosen as the object of study – Av. dos Cafezais. The results include an understanding socialspatial segregation implications in the capital of Mato Grosso do Sul and the project of urban design as a way for exposing the problems as well as the potentials of mitigation.
