Introduction Agribusiness is one of the sectors of the Brazilian economy responsible for generating jobs and income, being extremely important not only for the economy, but also for human development. It is one of the sectors that invests the most in trends to improve its processes, consequently, being synonymous with innovation and technology. (TOTVS, 2022). For Davis and Goldberg (1957), agribusiness is defined by the sum total of production and distribution operations of agricultural supplies; and the storage, processing and distribution of agricultural products, and items produced from them. Research Problem and Objective Given these directions, this research has the following problem: What are the main difficulties in implementing female entrepreneurship in the sustainable agribusiness sector in the municipality of Aquidauana-MS? To fulfill the study, the presence of company(s) where the entrepreneur was female and the company was in the agro sector with a profile focused on sustainability was investigated. The objective of the research is to understand female entrepreneurship in the sustainable agro sector in the municipality of Aquidauana-MS. Theoretical foundation In order for the proposed objective to be achieved, a theoretical study on agribusiness, entrepreneurship, female entrepreneurship and sustainable development is integrated, with regard to its constituents for the argument. Methodology The research was characterized as qualitative (Hair et al., 2005), and was carried out between the 7th and 8th of September, in the municipality of Aquidauana-MS. Given the objective of the research, companies in the agro sector that were run by women and had a sustainable bias were sought in the municipality. Regarding the purposes, the research is descriptive, as it exposes the report of the respondents on sustainable agribusiness (Creswell, 2003; Malhotra, 2006; Vergara, 2007). Analysis and Discussion of Results In order for the research objective to be achieved, a survey was carried out of companies in the agro sector that had a bias and/or projects focused on sustainability. It was later verified whether these companies were run by women. From this procedure, only one company was selected, with which a case study was carried out. The company is JF Pecuária, which is owned by rural producer Fernanda Souza Diniz, aged 27, graduated in aesthetics with a postgraduate degree in cosmetology, born in Rondonópolis-MT, but currently residing in Aquidauana-MS. Final considerations This article aimed to identify the difficulties that arise when women's participation in the agribusiness sector is to be carried out in a sustainable manner and to present alternatives to resolve these setbacks.
