The social function of the Public University in the current context has the challenging role of training citizens and preparing them for the job market together with a focus on social rights and seeking equality in education. To this end, in contrast to the capitalist idea of neoliberalism, it is up to Public Universities to encourage students' access and retention in higher education so that they have the minimum conditions to pursue their potential and dignity. Given this scenario, this work intends to analyze the degree of relative efficiency of Federal Public Universities in relation to the public policy of student assistance in the training of graduates. Through quantitative-descriptive research, the systematization and interpretation of information relating to the period from 2017 to 2021 was carried out, extracted from two main sources: data requested and forwarded by the Fala.BR Integrated Ombudsman and Information Access Platform and data collected from Reports Annual Management Report of the 69 Federal Public Universities. The calculations were carried out using the Data Envelopment Analysis – DEA method. The main results found were the relative efficiency scores of each university and the benchmarking correlation between each one of them, in addition to the application of the target tool for the number of graduating students based on the year 2021.
