In recent years, agribusiness has played an increasingly important role in both the global and national economies, whether by producing food that sustains the population, by generating direct and indirect jobs in rural and urban areas, or by providing raw materials for various sectors. However, the contemporary world faces complex and interconnected challenges, such as economic, climate, health and political crises, and agribusiness has been an escape valve for the Brazilian economy. Therefore, this article aims to describe the importance of Brazilian agribusiness and its behavior in the midst of economic crises, specifically in the face of the 2008 crisis and the Covid-19 crisis. To this end, secondary data obtained from the websites of Cepea and the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (MAPA) was used. In 2008, during the global financial crisis, Brazilian GDP registered a value of R$ 1957.830 billion, this crisis had notable impacts on financial markets, industrial production and international trade. Fast forward to 2020, Brazil faced a new challenge with the COVID-19 pandemic and contrary to negative expectations, Brazilian GDP reached R$2465.931 billion, indicating surprising resilience in the face of adversity. At the same time, Brazilian agribusiness exports played a crucial role in these two distinct phases, in 2008 the sector's exports reached the mark of US$ 71,747,138,356.00, demonstrating its importance in sustaining the economy. In 2020, during the pandemic, agribusiness exports increased to US$ 100,701,953,630.00, highlighting the resilience and adaptability of this strategic sector.
