Resumo: The objective of the work is to describe and analyze the trajectory of the implementation of public policies, aimed at small rural producers, in the Indaiá Settlement. Located in the city of Itaquirai, in the State of Mato Grosso do Sul-MS. The settlement has been in existence for over thirty years, permeated by struggles and difficulties in maintaining families on the land. Aiming to create new possibilities for the settlers, the family farming project was implemented through the Agrarian Development and Rural Extension Agency – AGRAER, an agency linked to the State of MS. The research methodology is based on qualitative research, through the analysis of bibliographical works, oral sources and the examination of documentary sources from the institutions that implemented the assistance program, seeking to understand the forms of organization and action of the beneficiary producers and the impacts on the maintenance of production and the daily life of the settlement.

Localizado na cidade de Itaquirai, no Estado de Mato Grosso do Sul. O assentamento possui mais de trinta anos de existência, permeados por lutas e dificuldades para manutenção das famílias na terra. Visando criar novas possibilidades para os agricultores foi implantado o projeto de agricultura familiar por meio da Agência de Desenvolvimento Agrário e Extensão Rural – AGRAER, vinculada ao Estado de MS.
