The Covid-19 socio-sanitary pandemic has a syndemic nature; that is, it focused more on the socially vulnerable layers. Thus, the indigenous peoples of Mato Grosso do Sul were the most affected – in proportion, in lethality and consequently in deaths – by the pandemic during the years 2020 to 2022. Therefore, the aim is to understand the consequences of inequality in a pandemic context for the third largest population of indigenous peoples in Brazil. It is noteworthy that the work is structured in bibliographical research with collection of journalistic, scientific and academic data on the topic. Subsequently, the documentary materials were analyzed and schematized in a critical and reflective manner. The final deduction resulted in an increase in social inequality for the indigenous peoples of Mato Grosso do Sul during the pandemic period, with state measures to combat the virus being few for these populations.
