MULHERES E A EDUCAÇÃO ESCOLAR DE SEUS FILHOS NO CONTEXTO DA PANDEMIA DA COVID-19

Resumo: This master's research is linked to Line 03, entitled "Formative Processes, Educational Practices, Differences" of the Postgraduate Program in Education, Faculty of Education, Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul. The research aimed to investigate the challenges faced by women from Naviraí - MS, who have multiple work shifts, in monitoring the school education of their children, who performed emergency remote study at home during the Covid-19 pandemic and the implications related to gender issues. The theoretical reference focuses on discussions about gender relations and its interface with the field of education, with emphasis on issues inherent to patriarchy, maternity, work, school education, pandemic context, and maternal involvement in the educational activities of their children. As a methodology for the empirical study, qualitative research was used, carried out by recording interviews semi-structured and individualized interviews, based on previously prepared scripts. A total of 12 women participated in the field research, being 8 mothers and 4 teachers of children enrolled in the early years of elementary school in the city of Naviraí - MS. The 12 women were from two public schools, one municipal, located in a peripheral region and the other state school, located in the central region of the city. The data were transcribed, systematized and analyzed, from the organization of six categories, as follows: Field of empirical research; Influence of the school trajectory of the interviewed mothers on the school life of their children; Organization of the children's school education, at home, in the pandemic context; Female overload and the children's school education in a pandemic scenario; Recognition of the relevance of school and teachers from the maternal point of view; Pandemic, gender issues and social aspects. The results show that, despite the conquests of women, who left the domestic environment and started working outside the home, in practice there was an overload of work, because the domestic chores and the care and education of children remained under the responsibility of women. And in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, when schools were closed and children remained at home, there was an aggravating factor, since domestic, maternal, and employment activities occurred simultaneously and, therefore, mothers had to work hard to help their children with school activities, resulting in an even greater work overload and consequent mental exhaustion. And even in the homes where the spouse lived together with the mother and children, the demand for activities was mostly the responsibility of women, a reflection of the patriarchal society that assigns to the female gender the functions inherent to care, education, and domestic work. Keywords: School Education; Pandemic; Maternity; Gender..Esta pesquisa de mestrado encontra-se vinculada à Linha de pesquisa 03, intitulada “Processos Formativos, Práticas Educativas, Diferenças” do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Educação, da Faculdade de Educação da Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso do Sul. A pesquisa objetivou averiguar os desafios enfrentados por mulheres de Naviraí - MS, que têm múltiplas jornadas de trabalho, no acompanhamento da educação escolar dos filhos, que realizaram estudo remoto emergencial, em casa, durante a pandemia da Covid-19 e as implicações relacionadas às questões de gênero que foram construídas socialmente. O referencial teórico centra-se em discussões sobre as relações de gênero e interface com o campo da educação, com ênfase para questões inerentes ao patriarcado, maternidade, trabalho, educação escolar, contexto pandêmico e envolvimento materno nas atividades educacionais dos filhos. Como metodologia para o estudo empírico, foi utilizada a pesquisa de natureza qualitativa, realizada por meio da gravação de entrevistas semiestruturadas e individualizadas, a partir de roteiros previamente elaborados. Participaram da pesquisa de campo um total de 12 mulheres, sendo 8 mães e 4 professoras de crianças matriculadas nos anos iniciais do ensino fundamental na cidade de Naviraí - MS. As 12 mulheres eram de duas escolas públicas, sendo uma municipal, localizada em uma região periférica e outra estadual, localizada na região central da cidade. Os dados foram transcritos, sistematizados e analisados a partir da organização de seis categorias, a saber: Campo da pesquisa empírica; Influência da trajetória escolar das mães entrevistadas sobre a vida escolar dos filhos; Organização da educação escolar das crianças, em casa, no contexto pandêmico; Sobrecarga feminina e a educação escolar dos filhos em cenário pandêmico; Reconhecimento da relevância da escola e dos professores sob a ótica materna; Pandemia, questões de gênero e aspectos sociais. Os resultados evidenciam que, apesar das conquistas das mulheres, que deixaram o ambiente doméstico e passaram a trabalhar fora de casa, na prática ocorreu uma sobrecarga de trabalho, pois os afazeres domésticos e de cuidado e educação dos filhos continuaram sob a responsabilidade feminina. E no contexto da pandemia da Covid-19, quando as escolas foram fechadas e as crianças permaneceram em casa, houve um agravante, pois as atividades domésticas, maternais e empregatícias ocorreram de forma simultânea e, então, as mães precisaram se desdobrar para conseguir ajudar os filhos na realização das atividades escolares, resultando numa sobrecarga de trabalho ainda maior e consequente desgaste mental. E nos lares em que o conjugue residia com a mãe e os filhos, a demanda de atividades foi majoritariamente de responsabilidade das mulheres, reflexo da sociedade patriarcal que atribui ao gênero feminino as funções inerentes ao cuidado, à educação e ao trabalho doméstico.
