Resumo: The present work aims to historicize the participation of the FEB (Brazilian Expeditionary Force) in the Second World War (1939-1945), through bibliography, but added to the oral and written reports of former combatants and the memory of these transmitted to their families. The memory of the “pracinhas” strengthens the bonds between veterans’ families and builds its own narrative, a subjective reading different from official and institutional histories. The aim is to contribute to preserving the memories of the “pracinhas”, whose life experiences should be part of “National History”.

A memória dos “pracinhas” fortalece os laços entre os familiares dos veteranos e constrói uma narrativa própria, uma leitura subjetiva diferente das histórias oficiais e institucionais.
