ABSTRACT: Early Childhood Education is fundamental for educational development, personal and social. Affective relationships in the educational space are crucial for the child development. From this perspective, the research aims to analyze the relevance of affectivity in Early Childhood Education, seeking to understand how affectivity can influence the cognitive and emotional development of children and how pedagogical action can promote an affective environment in the classroom. A methodology was guided by bibliographical research, based on theoretical references, that deal with the process of affectivity in Early Childhood Education, in materials already published in books, theses, dissertations and scientific articles. From the bibliographical research a reflective dialogue was held, seeking to highlight contributions on the affection for children's learning and challenges in relation to pedagogical practice which considers affectivity as a stimulus for life, learning and integral development. The results indicate that development and learning must be an affectionate construction, just as affectivity is crucial for the development of skills and competencies socio-emotional aspects of children in Early Childhood Education and the educator must develop its pedagogical practice in a way that has the child as the center, that is, the child must be the reason for the pedagogical action.
