Resumo: Objective: To analyze the effects of low power laser - LBP InGaAIP (660nm) on the levels of protein expression of inflammatory mediators after cutting the Achilles tendon injury common rats. Methods: 30 Rattus norvegicus, Wistar strain of albino male underwent partial incisions of the left common calcaneal tendon, divided into three groups of 10 animals according to the time of euthanasia after injury: 6, 24 and 72 hours. Each group was divided into control group and underwent laser therapy (LBP) with a power of 100 mW (power density of 3.57 W/cm2), the beam area of 0.028 cm 2. The application was in the form of a single point by transcutaneous method in the posterior region of the Achilles tendon common with energy density of 214 Joules/cm2, 6 joules of energy and time to 60 seconds. The LBP group animals were treated every day until the time of euthanasia established for each group. The evaluation of the inflammatory mediators IL-1B, IL-6 and IL-10 tendon samples were performed by ELISA assay. Results: The three groups treated with LBP (6h: 36.6 ± 4.8, 24h: 36.7 ± 18.7; 72h: 9.7 ± 1.8) showed significant reduction of IL-1ẞ compared to control groups (6h: 53.1 ± 14.3, p = 0.0401; 24: 110.7 ± 29.7, p = 0.0015; 72h: 24.1 ± 11.2, p = 0.0463). The analysis of IL-6 showed significant reduction only in the LBP group 72 h (4.8 ± 0.7) compared to the control (7.1 ± 2.3, p = 0.0179) while IL- 10 showed a significant increase in the treated groups (6h: 32.8 ± 11.9; 24h: 36.6 ± 9.2, 72h: 25.0 ± 3.3) compared with groups related controls (6h: 10.2 ± 0.9, p = 0.0007; 24h: 27.7 ± 5.7, p = 0.0256; 72h: 10.3 ± 7.3, p <0.0001). Conclusion: We conclude that the LBP InGaAIP (660nm) 100mW power and energy of 6J is an important modulator of inflammatory mediators during the process of tissue repair after injury to the Achilles tendon cutting common Wistar rats.

description Objective: To analyze the effects of low power laser - LBP InGaAIP (660nm) on the levels of protein expression of inflammatory mediators after cutting the Achilles tendon injury common rats.
