The new scenario, around the world, is that of a pandemic caused by the Sars-CoV-2 coronavirus. The virus originated in late 2019, in the People's Republic of China, in Wuhan, Hubei Province. The cause of the new infection was identified as a novel coronavirus, causing the disease later called COVID-19. As a result, it was necessary to employ new safety and protection measures for both people and companies, which also affected the civil construction environment. Thus, the objective of this study is to investigate compliance with the Regulatory Norms and new preventive measures generated by the pandemic, aiming at the protection and integrity of the worker. For the elaboration of this study, visits were carried out in predetermined works, with different sizes and contracting companies, located in the city of Barra do Garças - MT, and a questionnaire developed and structured in relation to the relevant Regulatory Norms was applied. From the data obtained, it was possible to qualitatively and quantitatively evaluate the safety of work at construction sites in the municipality during the pandemic. Observing the results acquired in the visits, it is understood that in all constructions in progress there is a need to invest in the safety of workers, in safety protocols and in the hygiene of the work environment to reduce the contagion and spread of the virus, thus protecting the integrity of workers in the construction industry. Considering the risks that employees in this sector are running, no matter how constant measures are, to reduce the dangers there must be inspection and awareness in compliance with the rules.
