Resumo: The main objective of this study is to reflect on the possibility of dialogue between literature and cinema, focusing on the film adaptation released in 1999 of George Orwell's novel (1945) Animal Farm. In this way, for a better understanding of the subject, a comparative study was carried out on the writer Orwell and the film producer Robert Halmi of the adapted work. In addition, it was essential to read the book and watch the film to compare the similarities and distinctions present in each of these works, as well as to decode the messages that the writer and director intentionally set out to convey to readers and spectators through resources such as dialogue, historical contextualization and modes of individual perceptions that metaphorically denounce the human atrocities present in an animalistic and dictatorial society.

Dessa maneira, para uma melhor compreensão sobre o tema, realizou-se um estudo comparativo sobre o escritor Orwell e o produtor cinematográfico Robert Halmi da obra adaptada.
