The following work is to evaluate the suitability of four municipalities of Mato Grosso State of Law nº11.947 / 2009 in relation to 30% of funds invested in the purchase of food from family farms for the National School Feeding Program. It is characterized by being a qualitative study of exploratory nature, for this research, was used as methodology in data collection, interviews focused with National School Feeding Program the nutritionists of the municipalities studied in the year 2015-2016.Found inadequacy in the purchase of food from family farms in three counties, among the main difficulties to justify such inadequacy, we highlight the shortage of local family farmers enrolled in the call published, the irregularity in the delivery of food, lack of technical knowledge by farmers, as well as logistical problems. It is emphasized as a factor positive attempt nutritionists to establish the good relationship with farmers in an attempt to improve the current situation. Law 11.947 is an important food and nutrition security policy, it contributes to the healthy nutrition of students and enables the reduction of the rural exodus and increase the income of local farmers.
