Even in the face of civilizing leaps, the society retains chauvinistic prejudices and traditions, factors that have fueled, among other types of violence, the rising rates of rape crime. The present work, observing the culture and the historical scenario of gender violence, has as its central theme: the analysis of rape crime data in the city of Barra do Garças/ MT. It is intended to answer the following research question: How are rape crimes recorded in the municipality studied and what information is contained in the official data? From the hypothetical-deductive method, the main objective of this research was delimited to identify the form of rape crime records and to analyze the official data registered between January 2014 and December 2018. As secondary objectives, the survey of official data, presentation of the historical-cultural course on violence against women and analysis of the legal treatment provided by the Brazilian State. For future studies, it is intended to investigate marital rape, seeking to understand reasons and reasons that prevent the breakup of this abusive relationship. This paper has 4 chapters that indicate the elements of research, history and culture of female violence, literature review, legislative treatment and analysis of official data for rape crime. At the end, the concluding notes, future studies and references.
