Nowadays, adolescence is spoken of as a phase of human development that bridges childhood and adulthood. In this connection perspective, adolescence is understood as a period crossed by crises, which lead young people to construct their subjectivity. However, adolescence can not be understood only as a transitional phase. In relation to puberty, besides the physical changes are included the hormonal changes that, in most cases, lead to uncontrollable states of excitation, there is an increase in masturbation activity in relation to the function of the genital. It is when the discovery phase occurs, new pleasures and experimentations with regard to attraction and sexual fantasies. The objective of the study was to identify the main difficulties encountered in the daily life of elementary and middle school teachers in relation to the topic sexuality and how they deal with the doubts experienced by adolescents. This is an analytical cross-sectional study with a qualitative approach, whose sample is made up of teachers from a primary and secondary school of a public school of the Sinop / MT state education network. For data collection, a semi-structured questionnaire was used, with closed and open questions related to gender, age, marital status, religion, schooling, training area, teaching time, work time at the researched school and essay questions regarding development in adolescence and sexuality. Data collection was performed only after approval by the Research Ethics Committee - CEP of Sinop / MT. The data were obtained through a questionnaire, answered by 22 teachers from the public education network in the municipality of Sinop-MT. The results showed that, although they consider it important to work with adolescents at school, there is a lack of adequate training related to this type of issue. In this way, it was possible to observe the need for training programs and frequent training with teachers on the subject.
