In agriculture, the insects are generally recognized by the economic damage that they can cause. The construction of this perception is direct the experiences of the individual and the means in which it is inserted. Know how such perception is built serves as a tool that identifies positive and negative points of this relationship and can be used to implement more effective measures in building a sustainable agriculture. Using the principles of research Ethno-entomological, this study interviewed 263 farmers, seeking to know the perception of insects at the time of identification. For this, they used images of the main insects in crops of corn and soybeans. However, it was to found during the research that interviewed using commonly a popular name well defined (ethno entomological domain) to talk about particular species. The Insects are more perceived as pests than as natural enemies and can the beneficial insects are mistaken for pests. As in other works of etnoentomologia the people interviewed show curiosity or contempt in relation to insects. Therefore, the results suggest new work that can bring knowledge about the value of biodiversity in agriculture and the preservation of beneficial insects brings improvements to agrosystem.
