This scientific work is focused on the theme of the Unified State police: Advantages and Disadvantages and aims to bring out a recurring issue in today's society, that is, the existing police model contemplates the desires of society? It is noticeable that the indices used to measure violence, are in a growing evident. And this bias, it is necessary to clarify the constitutional functions of each state police institution (Military Police and Civil Police), for from this description of skills, bring the existing proposals for unification on the national scene, as well as bring up the positive and negative aspects of eventual unification of police forces within the states of the federation, from the perspective of the public administrator, but mainly on the perspective of society. To do so will base on the existing scientific studies on this proposal, and on the theoretical framework of social and scientists writers who published works involving the theme. Must be concluded that the understandings on the subject are not pacified. The bibliographic method was used to accomplish this descriptive research.
