This study sought to prioritize and select the best cycling route in the metropolitan region of Cuiabá-MT, considering the opinions of cyclists. To achieve this objective, the Analytic Hierarchy Process – AHP method was applied, which is a multi-criteria decision analysis model. To collect data from the respondents, an online form was made available, distributed among the groups of cyclists who use the cycling routes analyzed in this study. And the responses of 15 cyclists were selected whose judgments were considered consistent, as they presented values of Consistency Rtio (CR) lower than 0.1. The socioeconomic profile of the participants was also collected, and the following results were obtained; most cyclists are men and single, aged between 20 and 30 years, have incomplete higher education, have a monthly income of more than 5 minimum wages and reside in the city of Cuiabá. Most pedal alone, are beginners and cycle at least once a week, covering a distance of less than 20 km, some have had accidents performing the activity and most of them do not use any safety equipment when pedaling. The results of this study showed that the main criterion that influenced the choice of cycling routes, according to the opinion of cyclists, is safety (with a weight of 0.38), followed by infrastructure (0.28), proximity to home (0.18) and topography (0.16). As for the cycling routes, Route 4 (Exit to Chapada/Coxipó do Ouro) was in first place with a weight equal to 0.33, followed by Route 1 (Exit to Rondonópolis) with 0.27, Route 2 (Exit to Santo Antônio do Leverger with 0.21 and, finally, oute 3 (Exit to Cáceres) with 0.19. It is hoped that this study can be used as a reference and be an instrument to aid the decision in planning cycling routes in other regions of the country
