ANIMALS IN CHILDREN'S DRAWINGS: A PANORAMA ON RESEARCHES THAT INVESTIGATE THE REPRESENTATION OF ANIMALS IN CHILDHOOD

Resumo: This research aims to present an overview of the production of articles, dissertations and theses whose methodological instrument is based on children's drawings about animals. To this end, a bibliographic review was carried out in the area of ​​science education in the last 12 years. The criteria for selecting the studies were: research involving subjects from 3 to 11 years old; research whose methodological instrument was drawing; research in the area of ​​science with the aim of investigating the representation of animals by children. Then, the methodological resources, the research production spaces and how the children's representations in the drawings are analyzed were identified. Finally, it is considered that the authors were restricted to the observation of morphological aspects of animals and not to the cognitive and psychological aspects of children's drawing. The concept of representation is understood as a relationship of similarity between the morphological aspects of animals and the image that children present of them in the drawings.

Para tanto, foi realizada uma revisão bibliográfica na área de ensino de ciências nos últimos 12 anos. Os critérios para a seleção dos estudos foram: pesquisas envolvendo sujeitos de 3 a 11 anos de idade; pesquisas cujo instrumento metodológico fosse o desenho; pesquisas na área de ciências com o objetivo de investigar a representação de animais pelas crianças. Em seguida, foram identificados os recursos metodológicos, os espaços de produção das pesquisas e como são analisadas as representações das crianças nos desenhos. Por fim, considera-se que os autores se restringiram à observação de aspectos morfológicos dos animais e não aos aspectos cognitivos e psicológicos do desenho infantil.
