Resumo: The realization of practical classes associated with lectures on teaching botany is essential for effective learning by students. Science should be taught to form more flexible, efficient and self-directed learners with learning ability. This study aimed to investigate the field of practices that realize the future teachers of biology in the course of Botany disciplines Degree in teaching of Biology of the Institute of education sciences of Huambo, angola and prospects for improvement. It was adopted as methodology the qualitative approach. Applied surveys to students, confirmed the absence of practical classes in botany in previous years and infrequently in higher education. The role of practice in science is essential for future teachers will be more prepared for high quality education and assist in the dissemination of information on the preservation and conservation of national biodiversity

A ciência deve ser ensinada para formar aprendizes mais flexíveis, eficientes e autônomos, com capacidade de aprendizagem. O presente trabalho teve como objetivo investigar as práticas de campo que realizam os futuros professores de Biologia nas disciplinas de Botânica do curso de Licenciatura em Ensino da Biologia do Instituto Superior de Ciências de Educação do Huambo, Angola e perspectivas futuras para o seu melhoramento. Adotou-se como metodologia a abordagem qualitativa. Aplicou-se inquéritos aos estudantes do primeiro ao quinto ano. Da análise feita as respostas e opiniões dos estudantes, confirmou-se a ausência de aulas práticas de botânica nos anos anteriores e a pouca frequência no ensino superior.
