THE BRAZILIAN OLYMPIC OF PUBLIC SCHOOL PHYSICS IN ACRE: RESULTS AND INFLUENCE OF SOCIOECONOMIC VULNERABILITY

Resumo: The present research aims to study the participation, the state income and the participants subject to social and economic vulnerability at the Brazilian Public School Physics Olympiad (OBFEP) in the state of Acre, during the 2015-2018 editions. The descriptive research used a qualitative approach, by comparing the results of the first and second phases, analyzing whether local conditions (social and economic) had an influence on the results obtained by the participants. It also took a quantitative approach, as data on participation in the editions in question were analyzed. A total of 1,602 students participated in these editions, of which three were medalists. It was concluded that below average results are linked to these conditions. Alternatives to diffuse OBFEP in the state, as well as proposals to alleviate school inequalities, are suggested so that the positive results in OBFEP are the result of inclusive and innovative practices.

A pesquisa, de caráter descritivo, utilizou uma abordagem qualitativa, pela qual foram comparados os resultados da primeira e segunda fases, analisando se as condições locais (sociais e econômicas) tiveram influência nos resultados obtidos pelos participantes. Também teve uma abordagem quantitativa, uma vez que os dados referentes à participação nas edições em questão foram analisados. Participaram dessas edições um total de 1.602 alunos, dos quais três foram medalhistas. Concluiu-se que os resultados abaixo da média estão ligados a essas condições.
