DIDACTIC SEQUENCE AS A STRATEGY FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF ALGEBRAIC THINKING IN THE 9TH GRADE OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Resumo: | For the development of algebraic thinking, it is essential to use methodological teaching strategies to develop algebraic skills in students, with a view to produce meanings to the objects of knowledge of algebra. The research aimed to investigate activities organized in a didactic sequence that addresses the concepts of polynomials and their operations for students of the final years of the Elementary School, from the perspective of the National Common Curricular Base. This investigation adopted a qualitative approach, with a characteristic design of a case study. The analyzes of the productions carried out by the students of a state school in the city of Manaus, state of Amazonas, together with the observations and recordings of images during the application of the sequences of activities pointed out that the accomplishment of tasks organized in a didactic sequence allied to the methodology Problem Solving and mediated by the use of concrete material as a didactic resource aroused the students' interest in the activities and contributed to the development of characteristic elements of algebraic thinking, as it allowed the gradual construction of meaningful mathematical concepts. In addition, the organization of teaching work in the classroom contributed to the development of social and emotional aspects in students. |

In addition, the organization of teaching work in the classroom contributed to the development of social and emotional aspects in students.Para el desarrollo del pensamiento algebraico es fundamental utilizar estrategias didácticas metodológicas para desarrollar habilidades algebraicas en los estudiantes, con miras a producir significados a los objetos de conocimiento del algebra. La investigación tuvo como objetivo indagar actividades organizadas en una secuencia didáctica que aborden los conceptos de polinomios y sus operaciones para estudiantes de enseñanza básica en sus últimos años, desde la perspectiva de la Base Curricular Común Nacional. Esta investigación adoptó un enfoque cualitativo, con un diseño característico de estudio de caso. Los análisis de las producciones realizadas por los alumnos de una Escuela Estadual de la ciudad de Manaus, estado de Amazonas, junto con las observaciones y registros de imágenes durante la aplicación de las secuencias de actividades, apuntaron que la realización de tareas organizadas en una secuencia didáctica aliada a la metodología de resolución de problemas y mediada por el uso de material concreto como recurso didáctico despertó el interés de los estudiantes por las actividades y contribuyó al desarrollo de elementos característicos del pensamiento algebraico, pues permitió la construcción gradual y significativa de conceptos matemáticos. Además, la organización del trabajo docente en el aula contribuyó al desarrollo de aspectos sociales y emocionales en los estudiantes.Para o desenvolvimento do pensamento algébrico é essencial utilizar estratégias metodológicas de ensino para desenvolver nos estudantes habilidades algébricas, com vistas a produzir significados aos objetos de conhecimento da álgebra. A pesquisa teve como objetivo investigar atividades organizadas em uma sequência didática que abordem os conceitos de polinômios e suas operações para estudantes do Ensino Fundamental nos anos finais, na perspectiva da Base Nacional Comum Curricular. Esta investigação adotou uma abordagem do tipo qualitativa, com desenho característico de um estudo de caso. As análises das produções realizadas pelos estudantes de uma escola estadual na cidade de Manaus, estado do Amazonas, em conjunto com as observações e registros de imagens durante a aplicação das sequências de atividades, apontaram que a realização de tarefas organizadas em uma sequência didática aliada à metodologia de resolução de problemas e mediada pelo uso de material concreto como recurso didático, despertou o interesse dos alunos pelas atividades e contribuiu para o desenvolvimento de elementos característicos do pensamento algébrico, à medida que permitiu construir gradativamente conceitos matemáticos com significado.
