Scientific reasoning is defined in the literature as a set of essential skills for the development of children and inherent to the investigation process. The present study aimed to characterize the studies that prioritized the formation of scientific reasoning in young children in Early Childhood Education. Therefore, bibliographic research was carried out in the ERIC database with specific descriptors and time frame. The final group of studies included in this investigation was organized into four thematic axes of analysis contemplating: Intervention proposals with children, teacher training, the family role and theoretical studies. After the screening process and allocating the studies in the specific axes, 12 eligible studies for this study were selected with a focus on intervention proposals with children. Data analysis revealed some general aspects of the studies, such as the research objectives, the participants involved and the types of methodology that were used.
