STRING LITERATURE AND SCIENCE EDUCATION: AN ANALYSIS FROM SCIENTIFIC JOURNALS AND ENPEC

Resumo: This study aimed to understand the role and possibilities for cordel literature in Science education. For this, a survey and the caracterization of publications both in scientific journals and in National Meeting on Science education research were conducted. The findings demonstrated a few studies, a tendency of growth in the last years and publications concentrated in Northeast region. In addition, the publications were disperse in terms of institutions and there is no consolidation of research groups on this issue. From the qualitative analysis, three main purposes of cordel were identified: i) teaching resource (reading material); ii) object of analysis (conceptual or image of science) and; iii) resource for assessment (based on writing). In general, the results revealed theoretical-methodological weakness as well as centrality in conceptual aspects. The dispersion of the production and the focus on conceptual aspects suggest that cordel literature has high potential for further research. New studies that can be able to deeply discuss the epistemological questions are necessary. In this way, different perspectives would be bring to light.

In this way, different perspectives would be bring to light.Este estudio buscó comprender el papel y las posibilidades de interrelación entre la literatura de cordel y la educación en ciencias a partir de la identificación y caracterización de estudios publicados en revistas nacionales y en el Encuentro Nacional de Investigación en Educación en Ciencias entre 2010 y 2020. Los resultados indican estudios relativamente incipientes y tendencia de crecimiento en los últimos años, especialmente a partir de 2018. Hay una concentración de trabajos en la región Nordeste (13 de los 15 trabajos), dispersión institucional y no consolidación de grupos de investigación/investigadores que tienen el cordel como foco de investigación. El análisis cualitativo permitió enumerar tres características principales del cordel: i) recurso didáctico (material de lectura); ii) objeto de análisis (conceptual o imagen de la ciencia) y; iii) recurso de evaluación (basada em escritura). Los resultados del análisis cualitativo revelan, en general, baja robustez teórico-metodológica de las investigaciones y centralidad en aspectos conceptuales. La dispersión de la producción y el foco central en los aspectos conceptuales sugieren que la literatura cordel tiene un alto potencial de exploración, así como la necesidad de nuevos estudios que profundicen cuestiones epistemológicas, permitiendo así nuevas miradas y perspectivas.Este estudo buscou compreender o papel e as possibilidades de interrelação entre o cordel e a educação em ciências a partir do mapeamento e caracterização de estudos publicados em periódicos nacionais e no Encontro Nacional de Pesquisa em Educação em Ciências entre 2010 e 2020. Os resultados apontam que os estudos são relativamente incipientes com tendência de crescimento nos últimos anos, sobretudo a partir de 2018. Há uma concentração na região Nordeste (13 dos 15 trabalhos), embora tenha se verificado uma dispersão institucional e a não consolidação de grupos de pesquisa/pesquisadores que tenham o cordel como foco de pesquisa. A análise qualitativa dos trabalhos permitiu elencar três principais funcionalidades do cordel: i) recurso de ensino (material de leitura); ii) objeto de análise (conceitual ou imagem da ciência) e; iii) recurso avaliativo (escrita de cordéis). Os resultados da análise qualitativa revelam, no geral, que ainda não há uma robustez teórico-metodológica na consecução dos trabalhos, bem como centralidade em aspectos conceituais.
