PROPOSAL FOR MATH EDUCATION PROGRAM OF CALCULATION TRAINING ACTIVITIES, THE RIO DE JANEIRO EDUCATION INSTITUTE OF DECADE 1930.

Resumo: | This article investigates the teachers‘ proposal for teaching calculus as adhered to by the Institute of Education of Rio de Janeiro, a renowned institution for training teachers during the 1930s. Teacher training at the Institute of Education executed a proposal that did not entirely divorce theory and practice and sought to bridge the gap between knowledge of the subject and teaching the subject itself. This marked an era of emphasis on the methods for teaching as justified in the scientific literature on education. As this investigated period indicates, the proposal of the institute concerns itself as a work of historical studies affiliated to the History of Education, and more closely, the History of Mathematics Education. |

As this investigated period indicates, the proposal of the institute concerns itself as a work of historical studies affiliated to the History of Education, and more closely, the History of Mathematics Education.A proposta de formação de professores, para o ensino de matemática, foi investigada no referido trabalho, a partir da análise do programa da matéria de ensino Cálculo, do Instituto de Educação do Rio de Janeiro, na década de 1930, instituição referência para a formação de professores, no período anunciado. A formação de professores no Instituto de Educação anunciava a efetivação de uma proposta que não divorciasse a teoria e a prática, e tentava garantir isso na insistência do relacionamento das matérias de ensino com as matérias da seção de prática de ensino, entretanto, às matérias de ensino não estava destinado o ensino e aprendizagem dos conteúdos do ensino primário, não se constituía um fim desta. Marcando uma época de insistência nas questões do método para o ensino, tendo em vista uma formação menos clássica, e mais profissional, justificada na produção científica da educação.
